Now after T-Mobile dropped the Gingerbread update for G2X, LG has decided to bring it back to board and make it available OTA upgrade for all G2X. We have already seen the Android 4.0 ICS already and of course G2X users are so eager for more OS update.
However it is not easy to push out software update for each smartphone since there are many bugs to fix. The main reason behind the drop of Gingerbread update of T-Mobile is that after upgrading G2X to Gingerbread, the phone suffered overheating and poor battery life. If the problem still exists, user will face bad time so dropping the update is reasonable.
We are still waiting to see how the update pushed out by LG performs. Hope everything is going on well and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for LG G2X will be available in 2012 as other terminals.
