Last March, Apple marketed the iPad 2, first in the U.S., then worldwide as of 25 March. Nearly a month after the arrival of the second generation of Apple tablets on the market, demand remains strong and Apple is still on the same track with low devices in stock.

To accelerate the pace of production, Apple is seeking potential new suppliers. According to the DigiTimes, the Taiwanese firm Everlight Electronics have sent samples to an Apple system for LED backlight on the shelf to become an official supplier certified by the Cupertino company.
The supplier may well join TPK Holding Corp. and Wintek Corp. in the closed circle of companies providing touchscreens to Apple. These two new providers could begin to deliver the first pieces in the month of May.
