Today ASUS has just announced its PadFone 2 in Taiwan. Remember the showcase of this tablet with phone inside? It is the day that ASUS turns the attention of the technology world to its door.
For the phone part, this PadFone 2 has big improvement with a 4.7-inch 720p Super IPS display, quad-core APQ8061 SoC Qualcumm processor, 2GB of RAM, a 13 megapixel camera supports up to 1080p at 30fps full resolution, 1.2 megapixel front camera and microSD card slot for more storage expansion. It can go globally that it supports WCDMA 900/2,100MHz plus LTE 800/1,800/2,600MHz.
For tablet, it has a 10.1-inch display with 1,280 x 800 resolutions. A 5,000mAh battery is enough to maintain the power. The combo weight of the tablet and phone is 649g (514g is tablet and 135g from phone. It has a new 13-pin connector on both phone and tablet which is convenience for data signal and this new 13-pin connector is compatible with micro-USB so it is still common for everyone.
Price and availability
It will land in Taiwan next week and you can purchase PadFone 2 alone or together with PadFone Station but different price. The PadFone 2 will be sold for NT$21,901 or US$620 to US$750 for different model of 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. If you want to purchase the PadFone Station it costs NT$8,990 or US$310. It is your choice.
