At CES 2012, even we can see the real product of PadFone from ASUS but at least the prototype version was shown. We can expect more at MWC 2012. If you don’t know about this ASUS PadFone, I can tell you that it is the combination of smartphone and tablet in which there is a dock in tablet that you always can insert the smartphone for some reasons such as memory, battery and more.
The phone features quad-core Tegra 3 processor, a 4.3-inch display, an 8 megapixel camera, HDMI connectivity and Android 4.0. Learning from previous rumors, we can assume that ASUS was trying to bring Android 4.0 to the tablet which was the main reason for the delay but
seem like we can expect this product to come to the market faster since bringing Android to tablet is not too hard as Motorola has managed to officially release Android 4.0 update for the Xoom already.
Great job! Now Motorola Xoom can officially update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. This update is only available for U.S. version only. You should have received a notification which will be able to upgrade directly from your device. If you didn’t get it you might check its availability on setting. If you still can’t find the update in setting, you better wait for a few more days for this update widely spread.
This is absolutely the great work by Motorola to bring this ICS update to Xoom making it to be the first tablet with ICS. For Xoom users in other countries, this update should be able to come soon.
At CES 2012, ZTE has unveiled a new Ice Cream Sandwich Tablet, the T98. This tablet has a 7-inch display with resolution of 1280 × 800 pixel. It is powered by Tegra 3 Chipset which you will find it useful for some high requirement applications and games.
Other interesting features include a 1.3GHz quad-core Nvidia, 1 GB of RAM, a 5 megapixel camera for video recording at 1080p, a 1.3 megapixel front camera for video call and 4000 mAh battery.

It is very clear that the year 2012 will be the year of tablet which we will see many more tablets in the market with different specification and price. Of course those who can offer the lowest price are more likely to be the dominants. Currently Apple is the leader in tablet with their iPad but price is the biggest matter.
To compete more in this business and learning from Amazon Kindle Fire which was so success thanks to the low price of $200, Apple is rumored to create two different iPad 3 with different price with different hardware.
One should be equipped with a better display with resolution of 2048 × 1536 and another one would come with 1024 × 768 which is used today on iPad 2. But both will be powered by A6 processor.
Talking about the low price, first it is about the iPad 2 which will see price drop to $399 after the iPad 3 released. Another one is the new iPad will be available with a price tag between $299-$499 according to WiFi or 3G and display resolution.
However dropping the price to this low level is so interesting even it is hard to do. We are waiting to see the new tablet marketing strategy of Apple for the year 2012. Will the company go for price drop or enhance technology.
ASUS has been taking its Prime Transformer very serious thanks to the tablets popularity around the World. Not to waste much time waiting, ASUS has announced on its Facebook which we can conclude that Prime Transformer will get Android 4.0 update as soon as January 12nd.
However ASUS has already alerted the users to concentrate about GPS and bootloader. In case of bootloader, it will be locked for you to keep the warranty and let you enjoy Google’s movie rental service. This is not the serious case since ASUS promised to provide bootloader unlocker soon.

We already have seen the release of Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 which is the first tablet to get Super AMOLED Plus. In addition, if Samsung is willing to create another 7-inch tablet, we are going to see this twin in the market in similar time. It is expected to come with WSVGA resolution of 600 x 1024 and 400 nit against the only 250 of the Galaxy Tab 7.7.
