Recently IDC has released the result of the research of mobile phone operating system in the marketplace. According to the result, about 136 million Android devices were shipped during the Q 3 2012 making it to be the best quarter. Apple shipped about 26.9 million iOS devices in the same quarter ranking in the second place after Android.
The 3rd and 4th places are for BlackBerry and Symbian respectively leaving the 5 place for Windows Phone.
In short, Android covers 75% of marketshare meanwhile iOS has 14.9%. BlackBerry Symbian and Windows Phone have 4.3%, 2.3% and 2% respectively.

Recently Samsung has released its official Q3 2012 report telling us the prosperity of the company. It makes $7.4 billion in operating profits for Q3 and $5.97 billion in net income. This number is nearly double the Q3 last year.
The most anticipate features of the income are the smartphones and TVs. The high demand of Samsung Galaxy S III plays the most important role in increasing the company profit but 8% lower demand of PC is one of the most concern issues.
Samsung must bring its best to enhance its smartphone and tablet market or it will lose its market share easily due to the high competitor profiles.

Recently HTC has just pushed Android Jelly Bean update for its most anticipate smartphone the One X. The company chooses to amuse its homeland citizens and those who are in Singapore. So now only Taiwan and Singapore can get this official update. The whole update weights 352.87MB and it is Over-The-Air update. After updating HTC One X to Jelly Bean, your device will run on Android 4.1.1 and HTC Sense 4+ to the One X.
To update, you need to get to “Setting”> “About device” > “Software update” > “Update”. Make sure that your device is connected to a stable WiFi network.

Seem like it is not easy to overcome the bad circumstances. Recently Sprint has released the financial report of Q3 2012 but everything is still not good. The final result is $767 million net loss and $231 million operating loss.
Comparing to the net loss of $301 million in Q3 of 2011, $767 million of 2012 hurts the company badly resulting a net loss of $.26 per share.
In Q3 alone, Sprint sold 1.5 million iPhones with 900.000 users. There are about 1 million LTE smartphones were sold which is the best earning resource since the users prefer to pay more for faster internet speed.
The management team of the company needs to develop a good business strategy for 2013 to counter this bad condition or more market share will be lost.

Samsung Display officially announces that the company will stop selling LCD panels to Apple due to some reasons including price discount. It is just a matter of time that Samsung and Apple will get themselves away from each other since the two companies has been through many lawsuits over patent infringements across many countries especially U.S.A.
A senior Samsung employer tells Korea Times that “We are unable to supply our flat-screens to Apple with huge price discounts. Samsung has already cut our portion of shipments to Apple and next year we will stop shipping displays,”
According to previous statistic, Apple bought 15 million from Samsung, 12.5 million from LG and 2,8 million from Sharp. It clearly stated that Samsung is the top LCDs provider and the termination should somehow affect the production process of Apple products if the company can’t find alternative as soon as possible.

Recently Best Buy allows pre-order for Nokia Lumia 920 and HTC 8X for $149.99 and $99.99 respectively. Both come with two-year contract with free shipping offer and AT&T will be the carrier. Basically for Lumia 920, you can choose different colors of red, blue, yellow, black and white.
These two are the first Windows Phone 8 to hit the market before the end of 2012 but Best Buy didn’t state the exact shipping date. Hopefully it doesn’t be too long to wait.
