While we are waiting for the official update for Samsung Galaxy S II, I would like to share with you an instruction to upgrade your Galaxy S II to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. This guide will use Odin with I9100XXKP4 and I9100XXKP8 ROM.
However with this unofficial update, not 100% of your phone functions will work so you better ready. It can conclude that overall performance is good.

Download Require
- I9100XXKP4 or I9100XXKP8 (password: samfirmware.com)
- Odin3 v1.83
- u1_02_20110310_emmc_EXT4.pit
Pre-Activities before upgrading
- Make sure that your phone has at least 50% of batter
- Extract the ROM downloaded above
How to upgrade Samsung Galaxy S II to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
Step 1: Run ODIN which was downloaded above. On the menu of ODIN, set as the following
- Pit: u1_02_20110310_emmc_EXT4.pit
- PDA: I9100_CODE_I9100XXKP8_CL42141_REV02_user_low_ship.tar.md5
- PHONE: MODEM_I9100XXKP8_REV_02_CL1092599.tar.md5,
- CSC: GT-I9100-MULTI-CSC-OXAKP8.tar.md5
Now you can press “Start”
Step 2: Now set your Galaxy S II into download Mode. To set your phone into download mode, you have to turn it off and the press and hold Volume Down + Home button +Power button.
Step 3: Now connect your phone to computer and let the process begin. It will take awhile to complete and your phone will reboot. DO NOT unplug it yet.
Step 4: Flash Kernel binary file. Now you have to set your phone to Download Mode again then on ODIN, set the following option:
- PDA: I9100_KERNEL_I9100XXKP8_CL42141_REV02_user_low_ship.tar.md5
Now you can press “Start”.
Congratulation! Now your Samsung Galaxy S II is running on Android 4.0.
