Intel has discovered a “limitation” of the data encryption feature on their SSD 520 Series (codenamed Cherryville), in other words, the data protection system does not allow you to create a password to 256 bits, but only 128 bits. The company is also to know that the bug cannot be solved with a firmware update and in this regard has decided to reimburse users who have already purchased an Intel SSD 520 (or until July 1, 2012) and shall not be satisfied.
The request must be made before October 1, 2012, while for those who want to wait until the problem is resolved, will have to wait several months for the new version with the SandForce SF-2281SSD controller.
For more information, therefore, for the reimbursement arrangements and contact the company, refer to the following address.
