The new Mac Pro with Intel Sandy Bridge and Thunderbolt are expected later this summer. More than just upgrade the Mac Pro could inherit a new chassis compatible with rack servers and an Intel is also part of this. No information was available on this processor, but Apple could ask Intel processors smaller, while keeping the same power to minimize the footprint of the Mac Pro.

Intel could also have done Apple a favor by adapting processor technology with public multi-processor, and Apple could offer Mac Pro with two processors instead of traditional Xeon models .
It would not be the first time that Apple would get an exclusive from Intel. For the release of the MacBook Air, Apple asked Intel processor to be in small size. The Core 2 Duo SL9300 then measured 22 x 22 mm while all Intel mobile processors on the market showed the dimensions of 35 x 35 mm.
For future Mac Pro, if Apple continues to dip into the Intel catalog, the machine will inherit the working E3 Xeon processorsor Xeon E7 processors. Clocked between 2.2 and 3.4 GHz, Xeon E3 have four hearts and a TDP of between 20 and 95 Watts. The Xeon E7 are clearly the market high-end processors with up to 10 cores running at 2.4 GHz and a TDP amount up to 130 Watts.
Apple has two choices: offer a Mac Pro with multiplying cores processor that will clear the market for professionals and the server or a Mac Pro with one or Quad two Core processors that is closer to the general public.
