
As what they planed for the spit-up, recently Motorola’s wireless networks infrastructure will be sold to Nokia Siemens. This is Nokia at the core of the access technology for GSM, CDMA, HSPA (WCDMA), WiMAX and LTE networks. Motorola to maintain its operations but iDEN, all patents related to its corporate network infrastructure, wireless and other selected assets. The sale must be completed before the end of the year and the requirements of regulatory approval.
Nokia gains quite a lot of benefit from the deal since it can buid up relationship with more than 50 carriers worldwide. Motorola still back up the transfer to the next generation tech and even its employees will be transferred to Nokia.
