With the Trojan Flashback / Flashfake, the SecuTire, the Mac has been shaken in recent months. The malware exploited a flaw in the Java module Mac OS X that was not corrected by then Apple released a patch that Oracle had several weeks earlier. To avoid becoming dependent on the proper management of updates by the user, the Adobe publisher introduced a new system update in the latest version of Flash Player.
Indeed, the Flash Player installer now won’t asks for permission to install future updates automatically. In other words, the updates will then silently and transparently to the user. Obviously, Adobe keeps the method of updating current will then offer the new version to the user.
Finally, Adobe has signed the Flash Player to be compatible with the security module Mountain Lion’s Gatekeeper, the next version of Mac OS X which is scheduled for release this summer.
