Special features of Galaxy S III:
- S Voice is not the most original functions since it is an improvement of speech recognition which converts it into voice assistant, just like Siri.
- S Beam is an improvement of “Beam” that appeared with the Galaxy and Android Nexus 4. Beam is the ability to share in NFC (so simply by pasting the smartphone back to back) URL (link to an application, a location on Google Maps …). S Beam enhances this concept by adding the ability to share any content (URL, media file …). If the file is too big to be transferred by NFC, the Galaxy S III will automatically switch to WiFi to transfer directly before re-turn, so it will be transparent to the user.
- Share Photo Buddy is a function that detects faces in the photos you take and you to send them directly with one click, to such persons if they are in your address book (via email or MMS).
- Stay Smart is based on a forehead sensor that checks if you look at the smartphone (when you surf the Internet or read an ebook for example) all the time and adjusts the screen brightness depending on your activity. Impossible that the screen turns off by itself if you look!
- Smart Alert will notify you of any message or missed call when you remove the unit from standby. Given a classical system of notification, the advantage is not having to go into the system tray or the application concerned to go read your unread messages for example.
- Direct Call: When you receive an email or SMS a contact, if you want to call it simply holding the phone to your ear and it will automatically call the contact, without pressing a button!
- Flipboard is a concurrent application to Google Current iPad available for several months. Personally, I much prefer to Flipboard Google Current. If you are also in my case, you will be delighted to learn that Flipboard will come out on Android, but it will be an exclusive Galaxy S III for a few months …
- Pop up play, you can minimize a video while she reads to do something else simultaneously. Yes, the screens are big enough now to watch a movie while writing an email.
Price and availability of Galaxy S III
The Galaxy S 3 will be available in Europe on May 29. Its advertised price is € 649 for the 16GB version and probably a hundred dollars more for the 32GB version and another €100 extra for 64GB. Samsung practice therefore the highest prices of Android smartphones and it is not very far from the prices of the iPhone 4S.
