Samsung Display officially announces that the company will stop selling LCD panels to Apple due to some reasons including price discount. It is just a matter of time that Samsung and Apple will get themselves away from each other since the two companies has been through many lawsuits over patent infringements across many countries especially U.S.A.
A senior Samsung employer tells Korea Times that “We are unable to supply our flat-screens to Apple with huge price discounts. Samsung has already cut our portion of shipments to Apple and next year we will stop shipping displays,”
According to previous statistic, Apple bought 15 million from Samsung, 12.5 million from LG and 2,8 million from Sharp. It clearly stated that Samsung is the top LCDs provider and the termination should somehow affect the production process of Apple products if the company can’t find alternative as soon as possible.
