NEW YORK (AP) — Facebook is updating its data use policy in an attempt to give people more clarity on how the company uses information they share.
As part of the changes, Facebook is also signaling that it may start showing people ads on sites other than Facebook, targeting the pitches to interests and hobbies that users express on Facebook.
The move comes a week before Facebook Inc.’s expected initial public offering of stock. Facebook held events with potential investors this week, including one in Silicon Valley on Friday, and it has posted a version of its road show online. The offering could value Facebook at nearly $100 billion — more than Kraft, Ford and other major brands.
According to a brief report by Bloomberg, the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC also called) is preparing a heavy penalty for Google after the search engine giant has violated the privacy restrictions of Safari for iOS, tracking users through advertisements scattered everywhere on numerous websites.
The source said that the penalty would be imposed on the Mountain View giant could get around to about 10 million dollars. Just Google, at this time, would be negotiating with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission on the amount of the penalty you pay for violating the privacy statements or systems of Safari, Apple’s Internet browser.
Since the beginning of the advertising of iPad 3, Apple has confirmed that the new iPad will be able to connect to 4G network. However seem like in case in Australia, iPad 3 can’t connect to 4G network. The thing is that iPad WiFi+4G can’t use SIM card to connect to 4G network of operator.
As the result Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) brought it to Australia’s Federal Court. Apple will have to contact the new iPad owner via email to refund them if they find that they were misled with 4G advertisement.
