Very good news for Samsung fans who are using Galaxy Note and Galaxy S2. First it goes for Galaxy Note. Even there is no official announcement from the company but the release date of Android 4.0 update for Galaxy Note will be by the end of May. However there is no further information about the exact date or method of the release but it will be available OTA.

In addition, Galaxy S2 will get minor update to Android 4.0.4 which will improve system management, web browser and battery consumption.

Gartner has released its latest report covering the period from Q4 2011 on a global scale, photographing a system Android growing rapidly enough to reach over 50% of global market share. Despite Google’s system has experienced a slight decline as a result of launch of the iPhone 4S, which has yielded to the house of Cupertino a gain of about 8%, Android has managed to maintain its market share gaining more users and climbing more than 20 percentage points compared to Q4 2010.

Going down the ladder are now down Symbian, Research in Motion, with no sign of re-growth and lost almost half the market share compared to 2010, the proprietary Samsung, Bada, stable with a 2% and close the ranking Microsoft (Windows phone) that despite the large investments made in 2011, loses a few points from last year (2010).

Gartner attributes the growth of Android smartphones and the wide range of manufacturers, including Samsung, thanks to sales of devices like the Galaxy S2 in all its variations on the various markets, has brought in 92.68 million units sold by the Korean manufacturer in the quarter just looked at that together contain 19% of the share of Android.
