Siri Hacker

A new game between Apple and hacker community is getting harder with Siri. Currently only iPhone 4S is able to

generic cialis pill

use Siri leaving previous versions so jealousy. However with help from hacker or jailbreaking community, we can use Siri on non 4S.

Seriously, Apple is working on more requirement for activation connection to Siri server to use the voice assistant. According to the report, Apple is expected to add new SetActivationToken Siri to protect the server from accepting non 4S device.

To deal with this problem, some hackers has managed to delete com.apple.assistant.plist file in this folder: var / mobile / Library / Preferences /.

However it doesn’t work in all case. We are waiting for better solution.

RIM To Release BlackBerry Messenger for iOS and Android

BlackBerry Messenger

Learning from the rumor, we have heard that RIM might want to release BlackBerry Messenger for Android and iOS. In short this is it. However there is no official announcement from the company. It is acceptable to say that after the release of iOS and Android, BlackBerry declined rapidly.

It

hurts the overall performance of the company but pushing this BBM to other platform might not good for the company. Originally on iPhone, we have iMessage, Chat ON for Samsung so RIM’s BlackBerry Messenger should be only on BlackBerry.

We are waiting for further development of this matter.

iOS 5 Battery Fix on Cydia Is Nothing But a Scam

iOS 5 Battery Fix

It is quite precise to say that more of iPhone (mostly 4S) running on iOS 5+ are facing battery life problem with fast draining. However Apple failed to solve the problem with software update but seem like there is a tool on Cydia claimed to solve this problem with a simple tweak which is currently sold for $4.99 but it is NOT. This tweak can’t solve anything.

This tweak is called iOS 5 Battery Fix. After measuring by two iOS hackers, Dustin Howett and Sam Bringer, iOS 5 battery fix can’t do anything or solve the battery life problem.

This is what Bringer said:

There has been a lot of hype recently about a 4S ‘Battery Fix’ – DHowett found that all it does is replace /System/Library/CoreServes/powerd.bundle/com.apple.SystemPowerProfileDefaults.plist

I looked for any possible impact of this

While this sounds good… we’re changing the power settings right? The reality is that it does absolutely nothing.

We would like to recommend you to stay away from this tweak. Make sure that you won’t fall in to this kind of trap in the future.

Microsoft: iPhone Inspired Us but We Won’t Copy as Android

iPhone ane Windows Phone

Just get back a bit to the past, iPhone was introduced to the market in 2007 and of course many people are so interesting about the way phone can perform. iPhone was not a new creation but a big innovation to what we already have on our previous phone. iPhone makes things much easier.

During an interview with New York Times, Joe Belfiore, a leader in the field of Windows Mobile, claimed that iPhone has inspired Microsoft to develop the mobile phone operating system that we now can see the Windows Phone. However Microsoft won’t copy as Android has done.

iPhone Will Cover Up to Next 54% of Smartphone Users

Change Wave

According to the new survey, Apple will be able to grab more smartphone user for up to 54%. This is absolutely very big success of the company. This survey was conducted by ChangeWave which is specializing in market analysis. There were over 4,000 customers in North America were involved in the survey.

This is not something strange since the most of iPhone 4S users are so satisfy with the new iPhone and willing to stay with Apple for the next product. With this success, Apple has a very strong stand on the top even with strong competitors.

However one thing that would make Apple worry is the increase of its main rival, Samsung. Samsung will also experience increase from 5% to 13%. Both Samsung and Apple have done many great job that Samsung has Galaxy S II and Galaxy Nexus while iPhone has Siri on its iPhone 4S.

However we are still waiting to see how the two companies compete in 2012.

Apple Pays $5 Million to Elan Microelectronics to End Patents Problem

Apple vs ELAN

Apple has decided to close the legal dispute with Elan Microelectronics reaching an agreement that satisfied both companies that provides for the payment by Apple of $5 million.

Elan Microelectronics is a Taiwanese company that a few years ago sued Apple for infringement of certain patents relating to multitouch, MagicMouse and trackpad technology used on iPhone. The two companies have now decided to reconcile and Apple will pay $5 million to end all litigation in progress.

In the past, Elan Microelectronics has won similar cases against the Synaptics touchpad and touchscreen solutions manufacturer used not only by Apple but also Asus, Dell, HP, LG, Logitech, Nokia, Samsung, Sony, Sony Ericsson and Toshiba.

In June 2010, the ITC had ruled in favor of Apple, claiming that the patent was not infringed any of the Elan, for this currently is not clear why Apple has decided to pay this amount. Likely that, at this point, the expenditure of $5 million has proved cheaper than legal fees to be addressed on appeal or that the two companies have agreed to use each other for some patents.
