Open-source MeeGo has been announced by Nokia by working with Intel’s Linux-based platforms but was abandoned due to the partnership between Nokia and Microsoft. This new improvement, Nokia plans to implement its next smartphones with Windows Phone OS rather than MeeGo.

To stay one the smartphone battle ground, Nokia has decided to team up with Intel Corp to bring the linux open source, MeeGo. With this decision, Symbian will lose it face on NSeries but still remain on low-end devices. This is an other strategy by Nokia to fight back with the iPhone which is very strong on mobile phone market.
There are few linux operating system already which have succeed in winning mobile market such as Google Android, Palm’s webOS and operator-backed LiMo. Now we are going to have MeeGo. Let’s see what will the giant Nokia do next to get back the market share it lost during the last few years.
