From the early days, Mozilla has been focused on empowering users across platforms and devices.  We released Firefox Home as an experiment in bringing a part of the Firefox experience to iOS, focusing on Firefox Sync.  This project provided valuable insight and experience with the platform, but we have decided to remove Firefox Home from the Apple App Store and focus our resources on other projects.

For those interested in continuing to use or improve the iOS Sync client that Firefox Home is built on, we have made the source available on GitHub, free of Mozilla trademarks and ready for independent development.  As with all Mozilla projects, we ask developers to be aware of the Mozilla trademark policy.

We remain committed to providing compelling user experiences across as many platforms and devices as possible and will continue to explore the best ways to provide great experiences to iOS users.

Over two months after the launch of Firefox and 10 security updates (10.0.1 and 10.0.2), Mozilla is nearly ready to release the stable version of Firefox 11, the launch is scheduled for today.

Firefox 11 introduces several new features, including performance enhancements, support the protocol SPDY and loading all the pages over SSL with SPDY. Bookmarks and their migration will support Google Chrome, allowing users to migrate from Firefox to Chrome.

Finally, Firefox 11 will present new development tools and will also be presented for Android 2.3 and earlier versions.

Years passed and even with the arrival of new competitors, Microsoft Internet Explorer is still the leading web browsers. Learning from the figures of netmarketshare, Internet Explorer is still the top thanks to the latest Internet Explorer 8 which covers up to 28%.

Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox have 16% and 9% respectively. In this regard, we can come to a conclusion that the two rivals seem to face slow improvement leaving Microsoft to maintain high figures.

Less than a month after the release of version 5, Mozilla public on their servers the final version of Firefox 6. Version 6 adds small improvements in Firefox especially behind the scenes. The interface, in fact, is identical to version 5 while about 20% improves the overall speed through increased memory optimization.

It is true that most add-ons cause a tiny impact on the performance of internet browser. Obviously, add-ons provide many useful features and functions, but they can also cause Firefox to become slower. On the other word, some add-ons can even slow Firefox to a crawl and make it difficult to use for regular web browsing. To deal with it, Mozilla published a name and shame list of the Firefox’s slowest add-ons.

I have just posted an article about the detail of new Firefox 5 and now seem like the rumor is going on so fast that an expected release date of Firefox 5 is in the mouth already. Of course Mozilla has been so success since its 3.5 version and beat EI 9 with its download record of 5.5 million to 2 million in 24 hours after the launch time.
