Harvard Website Hacked by Syria Group

It was a very stunning moment for Harvard website to experience such issue. The website was hacked and an image of Syria’s President Bashar Assad were posted on the home page with a message telling that U.S. is against Syria’s President and willing to threaten retaliation.

Nothing much was claimed lost but it is only the sign of the beginning since there is a message left by the hackers saying that “Syrian Electronic Army Were Here.”

Report: Government sues to block AT&T, T-Mobile merger

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Justice Department took the unusual step Wednesday to try to block AT&T’s $39 billion purchase of T-Mobile USA, arguing that the proposed merger would lead to higher wireless prices, less innovation and fewer choices for consumers.

Now AT&T, the nation’s No. 2 wireless carrier, and No. 4 T-Mobile are plotting a legal response to challenge federal regulators.

In its civil antitrust lawsuit, the Justice Department said the merger would stifle competition in the wireless industry. The deal, which is still under review at the Federal Communications Commission, would catapult AT&T past Verizon Wireless to become the nation’s largest wireless carrier, leaving Sprint Nextel as a distant third-place player and certain to struggle.

Report: China calls US culprit in global ‘Internet war’

BEIJING – The Chinese military accused the U.S. on Friday of launching a global “Internet war” to bring down Arab and other governments, redirecting the spotlight away from allegations of major online attacks on Western targets originating in China.

The accusations Friday by Chinese military academy scholars, and their urging of tougher policing of the Internet, followed allegations this week that computer hackers in China had compromised the personal Gmail accounts of several hundred people, including government officials, military personnel and political activists.

Reuters: AT&T,T-Mobile USA break-up is $6 billion: sources

(Reuters) – AT&T Inc (T.N) has promised to give Deutsche Telekom (DTEGn.DE) $6 billion in assets, services and cash as a break-up fee if U.S. regulators reject its proposed $39 billion purchase of the German company’s T-Mobile USA, according to sources familiar with the matter.

The $6 billion would include $3 billion of cash, as AT&T has previously disclosed, and about $2 billion worth of spectrum and a roaming agreement valued at $1 billion, according two sources who asked not to be named as those details were not public.
