Using Redsn0w 0.9.8b5 to Jailbreak iOS 5 beta 5

Last week, Apple has posted iOS 5 beta 5 for developers, this the new firmware version update is not possible using Redsn0w 0.9.8b2 jailbreak, Dev Team tool used to install Cydia on devices iOS 5 beta 2, beta 3 and beta 4. Today, the Dev Team has released a new version of Redsn0w for Windows and Mac that allows you to successfully perform the tethered jailbreak of IOS 5 beta 5.

The Dev-Team said in a statement on the official blog:

Redsn0w has been updated to version 0.9.8b5 introducing support for iOS5 beta5. Use this tool only if you are a developer of applications for users with a jailbroken Apple developer account, and remember that for now it is a tethered jailbreak!

To run the jailbreak iOS 5 beta 5 will have to use the file .ipsw firmware 5.0 beta 5 in Redsn0w when prompted. Recall also that the execution of the jailbreak is possible on all devices that can be upgraded to iOS 5 excluding the iPad 2. It should also be noted that, as reported a few weeks ago, the OTA firmware updates from Apple will be automatically blocked if it detects a device jailbroken.
